Red Wing to Superior, Wisconsin

We head further North following the Great River Road along the Mississippi and then the St. Croix Scenic byway that follows the St. Croix River. Most of the towns along the way have hanging baskets full of petunias, hanging from the light poles. It makes each of the towns colourful and very pretty. We stop off at various scenic overlooks along the way and see some great river views. We are also very lucky to see some waterfalls just off the road in Osceloa and in Pattison State Park. Ted even gets to have his photo taken. At Superior in Wisconsin and Duluth in Minnesota, are both port towns on Lake Superior. We were just very lucky t be in the right place at the right time as a large ship left the port to go out on the lake. We saw the road bridge lift up and the boat navigate the very narrow passage out to the lake, and then the road come back down again. Timing is everything!! Fine day in the main with just a few showers in the middle of the morning.
