Iowa State Fair
We have walked ourselves ragged today. We arrived at the state fair just after 9am and left just before 7 pm. In the livestock department we have looked at sheep, horses, cows, pigs, chooks, ducks, turkeys and rabbits. In the arts and crafts we have looked at photos, paintings, drawings, quilts, woodwork, metal work, and anything in between. In produce, we looked at corn, soy bean (funny about that) and vegetables, fruits and conserves, plus honey. As far as food was concerned we tried chocolate covered bacon, fried butter and a fried corn dog. Plus a Fair Square which has rice crisps, Oreo biscuit chips, potato chips plus the small equivalent to Smarties and then that is covered in a sweet sauce of caramel. There is also a historic village to go through and a museum. What a day!
