Dyersville to Prarie Du Chien, WIsconsin

We have said goodbye to Iowa today, by crossing the Mississippi via a car ferry into Wisconsin. We stop at a Heritage Museum, made up of a house built by the first governor of Wisconsin, a recreated historic village of the early 1900s and a museum on the history of farming in he area. All very interesting. During the rest of the day we visit a Brewery museum, a religious grotto, a town that has tried to resurrect itself by displaying presidents silhouettes on the light poles, a giant rat (statue not the real thing), an old train, and various other wacky things that one can find in America. Warm day, very pleasant and some great views across the river.
