Pontiac to Springfield

Today is a Route 66 and Abe Lincoln day. We continue along the old Route 66 stopping to view a number places; morning tea at an old diner, another old service station with a huge number of relics from the good old days, a giant holding a hot dog, a Maple Syrup factory, and we visit a lovely old church. As far as Abe Lincoln is concerned, we visit his tomb, an old courthouse where he practiced and an exhibition in Lincoln College. We also stop at some statues both conventional and quirky, for example an Abe Lincoln on the  largest covered wagon reading a book. In Lincoln itself, the City Hall has a telephone box on the roof....must be for Superman! The weather was hot again today, but the humidity was down.
